Sunny Isles |
Sunny Isles is a city that is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean
and the Intracoastal Waterway and is located in the northeast Miami Dade County
on a barrier island. The city is sometimes called “Little Moscow” as it has an
increasing Russian population.
The Communities
Sunny Isles has a casual atmosphere that is desired by many.
There are numerous attractions in and nearby Sunny Isles such as: Miami Metro
Zoo, Bal Harbour Shops, South Beach Art Deco Historic District, Miami
Seaquarium, Everglades National Park, Village at Gulfstream Park, Florida
Seminole Tourism, Miami Children’s Museum, and Aventura Mall.
Sunny Isles does not fall short of parks for recreational
purposes and some include: Skate Park, Golden Shores Community Park, Pelican
Community Park, Pier Park, Bell Vista Bay Park, Town Center Park, Samson
Oceanfront Park, Senator Gwen Margolis Park, Heritage Park, Oceania Park and
Intracoastal Park.
The city is also popular with fishing activities on the
Newport Fishing Pier or Halouver Beach Park however fishing is not allowed on
the beaches. Another popular attraction is the Dezer Collection which is an
automobile museum with over 1,200 vehicles on show including cars from James
Bond movies as well as a bat mobile.
Collins Avenue is the main street of Sunny Isles and is
lined with most of the shops and restaurants in the city. The street runs along
the coast of Miami Beach and also features some of the most desirable
oceanfront resorts in Sunny Isles.
The Beaches
There are beautiful, un-crowded, white-sand beaches in Sunny
Isles and a look at Sunny Isles will prove that it overlooks the purest and
widest beach in South Florida.
The Prices
Luxurious, beautiful, opulent condominiums and hotels line
two miles of white sandy beaches. Real estate in Sunny Isles passed through a
renaissance period when smaller motels were replaced with luxury high-rises.
According to city-data.com in 2012 the estimated median house or condo value
was $109,483. Condos can range from anywhere between $250, 000 and $3, 850,
000.

Local Restaurants
Enjoy a dining experience that is to be remembered at any of
the many selections of restaurants in Sunny Isles. There are restaurants to
suffice any palette as the city hosts many restaurants which range from fine
dining to casual bistros. Some of the most popular ones include: Alba Seaside
Italian, Caracoal Restaurant, Gili’s Beach Club, Costa Grill, Cascata Grill,
Bourbon Steak, Kitchen 305, Il Munilo New York, The Epicure Market, The View
Restaurant and Piazzetta Marketplace and Restaurant.
School Zones
The city of Sunny Isles is served by elementary schools such
as Highland Oaks Elementary, Ojus Elementary, and Norman S. Edelcup/Sunny Isles
Beach K-8. The high schools and middle schools are Highland Oaks Middle School,
Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior and Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School.
