From happy hours to museum exhibits and special nights out
Coral Gables offers a gamut of things events to attend.
Coral Gables Museum – Gallery Night Live
For the first Friday in every month the Gallery Night Live
takes place at the Coral Gables Museum. This event features live music, new
exhibitions, food, art installations and spirits.
Coral Gables Museum – Jazz in the Gables
This event takes place every Wednesday afternoon and offers
free lunchtime concerts on the Coral Gables Museum Plaza. The concerts boast
different jazz performer each week and catering by ‘Lovables’ with box lunches
on sale.
Carnival on the Mile Weekend
This annual carnival will feature 120 artists, paintings,
sculptures, crafts, photography and jewellery. The carnival runs from 10am to
10pm and patrons will be able to relish in three concert stages comprising of
over 30 performers and musical groups featuring rock, folk and Latin funk.
Calle Ocho Festival
This festival is celebrated to commemorate Calle Ocho as the
most historic and famous roadway in Miami. The festival consists of live music,
international foods, and entertainment. The Calle Ocho festival is also the
largest Latino festival in in the United States.
ARTcycle at the Coral Gables Museum
This exhibition will be taking place in Coral Gables Museum
every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday to showcase the
grace and beauty of the bicycle as well as the person riding it. The exhibition
will end June 1st, 2015.
Vik Muniz – Poetics of Perception
Vik Muniz is Brazilian born and is known for his practice of
varied materials. This exhibition will take place at the Lowe Art Museum every
Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm until April 19th, 2015. Vik Muniz
uses items such as garbage, chocolate sauce, toys, and magazine clippings among
other objects to create pieces which are then photographed.
Sophisticated Ladies Night
The Tarpand Bend Raw Bar and Grill on Miracle Mile features
the Sophisticated Ladies Night every Wednesday at 5:00pm. On Wednesdays ladies
can enjoy two for one drinks until 9:00pm as well as half-off food all night
and $50 bottles of Moet Chandon Nectar Imperial Rose and Veuve Clicquot.
In-The-Biz Night
For all the hospitality workers living in Coral Gables this
is the place to be every Sunday. The Bar on Giralda Avenue offers hospitality
industry workers two for one drink specials once they have proof.
Wine Oh! Tuesdays
The Globe Café & Bar on Alhambra Circle offers wine
specials every Tuesdays. There is also jazz night on Sundays with live jazz
music.
Open Mic Night
A great way to experience live music is to create it
yourself. The John Martin’s Irish Pub features open mic night every Sunday. The
pub is located on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables.
Miami International Children’s Film Festival
This annual event takes place at the Coral Gables Art Cinema
in Coral Gables and features art films for children, parties and workshops. The
festival was attended in 2012 by over 800 attendees from all over South
Florida.
