Fort Lauderdale Schools |
The public schools of Fort Lauderdale operate within the
Broward County Public Schools District. Within the city limits there are three
high schools, four middle schools and sixteen elementary schools.
Bayview Elementary School
Bayview Elementary is located at 1175 Middle River Drive in
Fort Lauderdale. The school serves from kindergarten through to the fifth
grade.
Bennett Elementary School
The Bennett Elementary School is located at 1755 Northeast
14th Street in Fort Lauderdale and serves students from pre-kindergarten
through to the fifth grade.
Virginia Shuman Young Elementary School
The Virginia Shuman Young Elementary School is located at
101 Northeast 11th Avenue. It serves students from pre-kindergarten through to
the fifth grade. Additionally, Virginia Shuman Young Elementary is a Montessori
school.
North Fork Elementary School
North Fork Elementary School is located at 11 Northwest 15th
Avenue. The schools offers a study at home option to students.
New River Middle School
The New River Middle School is located at 3100 Riverland
Road in Fort Lauderdale and covers grades six through to eight.
Fort Lauderdale High School
Fort Lauderdale High School is located at 1600 Northeast
Fourth Avenue and offers a variety of classes across different disciplines.
Dillard High School
This school is located at 2501 Northwest 11th Street in Fort
Lauderdale and the school’s campus mimics that of a college. Dillard High
School is home to the districts only Performing Arts and Computer Technology
Magnetic Programs.
Stranahan High School
The Stranahan High School is located at 1800 Southwest 5th
Place and serves students from grade nine to twelve.
Otherpublic elementary schools in the Fort Lauderdale area
include: Croissant Park Elementary School, Harbordale Elementary School,
Riverland Elementary School, Sunland Park Elementary School, North Side
Elementary School, Westwood Heights Elementary School, Walker Elementary
School, Lauderdale Manors Elementary School and Dillard Elementary School.
Additional public middle schools in Fort Lauderdale include:
Arthur Ashe Jr. Middle School, Sunrise Middle School, James S. Rickards Middle
School and William Dandy Middle School.
Private schools located within the city of Fort Lauderdale
are: Saint Anthony Catholic School, Pine Crest School, St. Thomas Aquinas High
School, Calvary Christian School, Cardinal Gibbons High School and University
School of Nova Southeastern University.
